Bruce Rundle's 1969 Beaumont Custom 2 dr Sport Coupe

I was on a business trip to Halifax Nova Scotia and my brother had told me about a great looking car two blocks away from his house. I went to see the car and it turned out to be a red '69 Beaumont. It took my eye right away. No one was home so I looked at the car and I headed back to P.E.I and told my wife about it. She said to give him a call so I did.

The owner told me that it could be driven anywhere. After a couple more inquiring phone calls, I headed back to Halifax with my son Mark to buy the Beaumont. After the deal was completed we surprised my brother by showing up at his place in my "new" car!!

After a short visit we headed out on a 3-hour drive home. When we crossed the nine mile Confederation Bridge to PEI the Beaumont was at her new home arriving without a "hitch". The 283 with a mild cam and headers performed just fine. The drive home was loud, because the Beaumont had no tailpipes; we loved the noise!

The trip home was April 1999. Three years later, I put a 1969 350 bored forty over and a set of ported and polished heads off of a 1972 Chev. I restored the seats with new covers, found a proper steering wheel and replaced the 3.08 gears to 3.36, which works much better. Future plans are to install a posi and to install new bushings.

I enjoy taking my Beaumont to car shows. I have made many new friends who share my interest in old cars. The Beaumont also gets lots of my attention as I spend many hours in the garage with her!
