Car: 1967 Beaumont Custom
![]() |
I was one of those guys who had a Hot Rod when I was younger and wished I could have kept it. 1967 Chevelle Super Sport, or I so I thought, it turned out to be a Malibu in the end but all the same very nice car, well optioned power steering, power brakes, power windows, nice. But I sold it over 20 yrs ago and wished I had one ever since.
Well the greatest thing happened to me, next to marrying my wife and having three wonderful kids; I picked up a job from guy I knew years ago in Calgary, got to talking to him about cars and it turned out he owned a couple of cars himself. A Dodge Challenger and a 1967 Beaumont Custom. Oh my Lord I had to see it, he said he had bought it at an auction in southern Alberta somewhere. I went to see it one day and just fell in love. It's not original but is still in sweet shape. Better than I had seen for the money he wanted. Of course he was going to give me a great deal on it, because I was doing a great job for him. So I bought it last year.
Went through the front end replacing this and replacing that, drives down the road like a dream now. No plans to ever change the engine back to its original 283 engine as I kinda like the 396 that's in it now. Some badging on the car needs to be replaced but all and all very happy with my purchase. Looking forward to coming to one of the car meets someday and meeting up with other Beaumont enthusiasts.
